Since moving to Caithness nearly 20 years ago, Tim was able to re-connect with his love of painting. A few years ago we built a Studio in the garden where he can work without the assistance of our friendly cats!
Tim has painted for much of his life and enjoys watercolours, oils, pastel and has recently been trying acrylics. He specialises in landscapes, seascapes and the natural world around with the Highlands providing a wealth of inspiration.
The Studio has an excellent selection of framed original paintings. Prints and greetings cards from previously sold work are also available.
Tim is happy to undertake commissioned work - the image above was of a client's home in watercolour from a selection of supplied photographs.
This landscape was completed for a client in Sutherland and shows the view from her back garden.
Some paintings, particularly watercolours of buildings benefit from using pen and ink for definition.
This wintry sunset over rooftops in Wick leant itself particularly well to oils.
Tim enjoys the freedom of pastels and this is a view looking over Sinclair Bay to Noss Head lighthouse.
The Studio is open from the end of May to the end of October from 10 am to 4 pm
every day except Monday & Saturday when it is closed.
If you wish to visit outwith these dates and times, then please contact us before you travel to ensure we will be in.
