We have both been involved with cats almost all our lives, from domestic pets, to showing & breeding Turkish Vans and Birmans in the past, then on to helping out with Cats Protection some years ago. For the past 20 plus years until recently almost all our cats have been adopted or rescued in one way or another.
A few years ago, after many rescues with really bad starts in life and consequential ongoing health issues, we made the decision that the final incoming cats would be pedigrees so decided on Maine Coons!
This section of the website will be added to over the next few months - so please come back to meet each of the cats and all about how their bespoke garden was created.
(Please note that for the moment, the button link on the photos below are not active, but will be as the website progresses.)
Sadly one of our cats was hit by a car on our mostly empty no through rural road, but he eventually made an excellent recovery after very extensive surgery. We couldn't face more traumas of this type and it was also unfair for our cats to be put through this as well, so very quickly decided to cat proof as much of our garden as possihle.
Puss is a friendly chap - he is the joint oldest current resident. He and his sister, Bonnie, are now 14. Puss is beginning to have some difficult health issues possibly due to his very bad start in life.
Bonnie is a sweet little girl but not the brightest! She firmly believes in spending her life relaxing in any comfy spot she can find, although her favourite bed is usually a cardboard box!
Bramble has a very long story attached to his arrival and life. He is not in the best of health and can only be described as a complete one off!
Toffee is a beautiful ginger feral boy who avoids humans at all costs. Bramble brought him home when he wasn't finding enough food to eat and we believe they're litter brothers.
Baxter was the first of the Maine Coons and it was he who was hit by a car. He is such a happy cat and his recovery has been nothing short of spectacular!
Evie was our second Maine Coon and is a close relative of Baxter. Evie is a rather shy girl and a little "dippy". She is very much her "own woman" but is very loving.
Here is the final addition to the clan - Lucy who is cousin to Evie and a very close relative of Baxter. Although new to the household, she is proving to be an absolute ray of sunshine!
Both Tim & Janet's lives have been full of cats who have made their mark so they deserve a mention. Each furry is as individual as each human!
